Guisecliff 4 Mar 18 – CANCELLED

EVENT CANCELLED

Unfortunately it has become necessary to cancel the planned Regional Event at Guisecliff on Sunday 4 Mar 18 due to the prevailing weather conditions. The decision was made because it is considered that it would not be possible to run a fair or safe competition. Thanks to those officials who have already put in a lot of time and effort into this event.

Hornbeam Park Lamp O Wednesday 21st February 2018

Continuing the excellent series of Claro Lamp Os for winter 2018, this next one will be based at The Park (at the beginning of Hornbeam Park, Harrogate).  Lots of parking available.  Drinks and food in The Park afterwards.  Meet 6.15 for 6.30 mass start.

The 1:5000 map ensures a clean-sweep will be achievable by all prepared to break into a sweat.  For those who wish to remain fresh-smelling for the pub, the vast majority of controls will be in the Hornbeam Park area itself enabling lots of lamppost-bagging without undue effort.

Decent weather guaranteed.  Bring a head torch, something to write with, a hi-viz garment and a mature companion if you are under 16.

We look forward to seeing you there.  Ruth (Planner) and Tamsin (on-the-day Organiser)

Claro News                     13th February 2018

Claro Top 10s

The cold weather on Sunday seems to put a few people off running and riding but those who ventured out did the club proud. At CLOK’s event on Coate Moor Matthew Rochester was 2nd on Brown, Allen Barnes was 10th on Blue, Leo Hicks was 5th and Toby Rochester 6th on what looked to be a long orange, and Liz Rochester was 3rd on Yellow. This link on the CLOK newsletter shows what the map looked like in 1972.

Elsewhere Team Parker Pair MKII  aka Luke and Adrian came second in the Mens pairs and 10th overall in the Open 5 event at Edale narrowly beating a current member of the senior  MTBO squad , conditions were a light blizzard, they are currently 2nd in the series.

MTBO Kettlesing

Next Saturday 17th February the NYMBO winter league event starts at the Queens Headin Kettlesing , this is a 2 hour score event and most of the riding will be on the network of local lanes, the planner has designed a course that will require some off road riding for those aiming for the win. Full details are on the NYMBO website here together with the blank map and details of how to order a coffee and bacon butty before the ride. Online Entry closes  Wednesday 14th 23:59, EOD costs more.

Your Club Needs You to Relay

The JK relays are held every year on Easter Monday, as the culmination of a weekend of high quality racing.   This year we’re on Cannock Chase, which is a great area.  Your club could really do with a few more runners to make up a variety of teams, especially Juniors…
