CLARO will run a Spring O Series in 2019; a series of local orienteering events, between April and June. The events will take place on Wednesday evenings using proper orienteering maps. \u00a0They will use SI electronic timing for Start and Finish.<\/p>\n

These events will generally comprise three courses: a \u201cLong\u201d course (Green standard), a shorter, \u201cShort\u201d course (Orange standard) and a \u201cBeginner\u201d course (White standard) that is suitable for juniors. The two longer courses may occasionally use more novel formats for variety and there will always be a White standard course provided.<\/p>\n

Timings will usually be as follows:<\/p>\n

6.00pm to 7.00pm \u2013 Registration
\n6.15pm to 7.15pm \u2013 Start window
\nInformal Training might be available \u2013 have a word at registration.<\/p>\n

Entries: Seniors \u00a33, Juniors \u00a31. Dibber hire: \u00a31.00 \/ 50p.<\/p>\n

SI timing will be used for the start and finish. \u00a0 Hire dibbers will be available.<\/p>\n

Coaching\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Quentin Harding will be running coaching sessions prior to some of these events.

Spring-O Killinghall Moor 29th May 2019 – Planner’s comments<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you to those who made it to the event this evening. We had three courses, the White, Yellow\/Orange kept broadly to the surprisingly compact yet diverse area of Killinghall Moor, the green ventured into a mixed environment with some urban running. We had runners of all ages, from under 5 to over 80, all returned safely. The only slight hiccup was local support not associated with orienteering incorrectly moving a couple of the checkpoints, thanks to Liz for correcting their error.
\nThanks to everyone for helping on the day with the event, to all those in Claro who just knew what to do (and did it), and a special mention to Richard who did a fantastic job in mentoring me on my first attempt at organising an orienteering event.\u00a0 Mark.<\/p>\n
