Compass Sport Trophy

Well we didn’t win but we put up a very respectable effort. Huge thanks are due to the 15 brave souls who traveled down to Devon to represent the club.  Virtuous Lady proved to be intricate, muddy and slippery (though not necessarily in that order). Individual scores were:

  • Brown: Davy Ker 83
  • Short Brown: Graham Ramsden 81
  • Men’s Blue: Stephen Fry 84, Mike Hind 82, Tim Evans 76
  • Women’s Green: Ruth Ker 100, Liz Potterton 90
  • Men’s Green: John Birtwistle 96, David Day 93, Allen Banister 82, Stan Appleton 77
  • Men’s Orange: Luke Fry 100
  • Women’s Orange: Tamsin Ker 92

Which gave us 12 scorers and enough to finish 8th out of 12. Thanks to Ruth for organising the Youth Hostel , where an enjoyable sociable evening was had by all, and to our team captain Mike Hind for sorting out the team and entry arrangements.

The picture shows one of our category winners running in to the finish, or was it for his Grandma’s Sunday lunch? Well done Luke. The Chairman’s photos of those finishing after him  are here.

Roll on next year – March 11th at Canklow (SYO). Final is in Cannock so much closer.
