Club Picnic 4th September
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this annual bit of fun. Thanks to Lois for planning the score event, the crazy quiz and getting us all organised.
Join us for the annual Claro club picnic Saturday 4th September 3pm in the Pinewoods Harrogate. New, Old and potential club members all welcome!

The time has been changed to allow you to attend the Aire Orienteering event at Silden in the morning, if you wish to.
Held in Irongate Field this all age fun event will start with a short Spanish style orienteering relay, suitable for all ages and abilities, followed by a bring and share picnic.
Bring along your picnic tea to enjoy after the run – cakes, biscuits, tea and lemonade all welcome!

What is a Spanish Style Score event?
There are 15 controls set out in the Pinewoods of varying technical difficulty. We all get ready to start together. We pair everyone up – one experienced orienteer with one junior/ less experienced orienteer. Everyone gets the map and each pair has a few minutes to divide up the controls between them. Everyone starts at the same time and runs on their own visiting the controls they have agreed with their partner. The winners are the first pair to both return to the finish having visited all 15 controls between them.
Its a fun way for everyone of every ability to compete together.
