CLARO hosted a CompassSport Cup and Trophy Heat (Level B) at Timble Ings on Saturday 4 June 2016.

ENTRIES: The CompassSport Cup and Trophy are closed events for British Orienteering affiliated clubs. In this heat, the clubs competing in the cup are AIRE, CLOK, EBOR, SYO and WCOC. Those competing in the trophy are CLARO, EPOC, HALO, NATO, NN and SROC. To enter contact your club captain. The closing date for entries is 21 May and there is no entry on the day.
In addition, there are 3 non-CompassSport courses which are open to all: Light Green, Yellow and White. These are EOD only.
FEES:
CompassSport courses: £10 seniors, £4 juniors
Non-CompassSport courses: £4
PARKING: In a gently sloping field with a good track running up the centre of it. The field is still wet (18 Feb) but hopefully will dry out. Driving on the field will always be downhill but be prepared to help push! Please car share and allow enough time. There will be a car parking charge of £1.
DIRECTIONS: Signed from the Otley/Blubberhouses road about 1km south of Blubberhouses (SE170542). Follow the single track forest road for 500 metres to the parking field. There will be no entry after 12.00 and no exit before 12.00 as the track has no passing places.
TERRAIN: Mature woodland on a mostly northern facing slope with a limited path / track network.

START AND FINISH: The start is 900m (15min) from the car park. Part of the route to the start is along a track also used by runners heading for the finish, please stay on the right hand side of the track and give way to runners. Control descriptions will be available at the start only. White maps will be available at the entrance to the start.
The finish is about 200m from the car park and there will be a small assembly area at the finish for the purposes of cheering.

FACILITIES: Toilets will be provided.
DOGS: Dogs are not allowed.
SAFETY: Competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. If travelling alone, please leave your keys at registration. All competitors who start must report to download even if they retire. Please dress appropriately for the time of year and specific weather on the day. Whistles and full leg cover are compulsory. Waterproof jackets may be compulsory in the case of bad weather. In the unlikely event of cancellation, details will be posted on the Claro website – www.claro-orienteering.org.uk. PHOTOGRAPHY: In accordance with the British Orienteering Child Welfare Policy and Procedures, the organiser of this event requires that any person wishing to engage in any video, zoom or close range photography should register their details with the organiser before carrying out any such photography.
