Snook-O – how it works
Its a lot simpler in the doing than in the writing, but here goes! There will also be a briefing on the evening.
There are 8 red controls, and a full set of the 6 other colours from Yellow to Black. There is also a special White control.
To start with, you have to ‘pot’ as many Red controls as you can. These can be done in any order. After each Red, you then ‘pot’ a bonus colour control, each worth the points as set out below. Each Red can only be potted once.
Having potted all 8 reds plus bonuses (or at any point earlier if you want!) you can move on to potting the colours in their set sequence of increasing value. To start this sequence off, you MUST pot the White control first (worth 0 points); after this, you cannot pot any more Reds, and you must pot the colours in the correct sequence to count them. If you don’t pot the White first, you don’t get any points from the other colours, so don’t forget!
As with any score event, you receive penalties for any time late back: 1pt for every 12 seconds late (ie 5pts per minute). So, don’t be late!
Red controls are numbered 191-198. The colours are numbered 20X where X is their points value, so White is 200, Yellow 202, Green 203, Brown 204, Blue 205, Pink 206, Black 207.
