ENTRIES:   Entry on the day only (EOD).  SportIdent (SI) punching will be used for all courses.  Hire dibbers will be available. If you run with an SI Card (dibber) not registered to you personally please tell someone at Download or your result may be attributed to the registered owner. More info here.

  • Long / Medium / Short: Senior £7,  Juniors and full time students £2.50
  • Beginner: £2.50
  • Maximum family entry charge: £15
  • SI dibber hire: Senior £1 , Juniors and full time students 50p

DIRECTIONS:          The area is located to the west of Knaresborough, adjacent to the River Nidd. Car parking will be in the public car park accessed from the A59, 50m north of the bridge over the River Nidd. Public toilets in the car park are open until 8pm. Registration will be at the north-west (far) end of the car park. Car park charges apply up to 18:00.

TERRAIN:        The venue is a mixture of formal park land, flood meadow , and runnable woodland with some small crags, with a mapped formal path network as well as some informal unmapped dog walkers routes. . The area is bisected by the river Nidd which is only crossable by two bridges.

MAP:          1:4,000  scale with 5m contours for all courses; printed on waterproof paper.

TIMINGS:

Registration open: 17:30 – 18:30
Starts: 18:00 – 19:00
Courses close: 20:00

DOGS:  Dogs only permitted in car park area.

SAFETY:  Competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. If travelling alone, please leave your keys at registration. All competitors who start must report to download even if they retire. Whistles, head torches and full leg cover are compulsory and will be checked. Waterproof jackets may be compulsory in the case of bad weather. In the unlikely event of cancellation, details will be posted on the Claro website – www.claro-orienteering.org.uk.  Information can also be obtained by phoning the organiser.

PHOTOGRAPHY:  In accordance with the British Orienteering Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, the organiser of this event requires that any person wishing to engage in any video, zoom or close range photography should register their details with the organiser before carrying out any such photography.
