DIRECTIONS:
By car/cycle. Best route from most directions is to go to Ripon first, either by way of Junction 50 on the A1(M) and the A61 or via Harrogate. Then take the unclassified Kirkby Road NE past Ripon’s Holy Trinity Church, signposted Grewelthorpe and Kirkby Malzeard. The Event will be found on the left 2.5 miles from the centre of Ripon. The Event Centre will be signed at its entrance and there will be advance warning signs placed on Kirkby Road to the NE and SW of the entrance
NOTE: The World Cycling Championships are taking place in North Yorkshire between 21 and 29 September. They will affect Harrogate and area over the weekend of our event. Whilst the projected road closures for 22 September do not appear to directly affect through routes for people travelling from the south to Ripon, Harrogate is likely to be busy. In assessing journey times people might take this into account and/or use the A1(M) Junction 48 and B6265 to Ripon . Here is a link to the North Yorkshire CC road closure webpage: https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/uci-road-world-cycling-championships

It lies on a plateau with gentle slopes falling away to the NE, has a good network of tracks and paths and is of variable runnability. The rest of the facility is open partly scrubby and contains various earthworks comprising banks, depressions and deep ruts.
The rest of the venue is in private ownership and comprises gentle slopes to the S of the Army area. There are fewer paths and the area has reasonable runnability with some rough undergrowth.
