Double Silver at British Champs

Congratulations to both Liz Drewe (W40) and Quentin Harding (M60), both confirming form that won them selection for England Vets earlier this spring, with both winning silver medals in the British Long Distance Championships. They were part of a small but very successful contingent of Claros who made the long trip to Newbury to run the championships on what proved to be unexpectedly technical and sapping terrain – well worthy of a national championship! Others competing: Lois Parker (W20Elite – 5th), Ruth Ker (W55 – 6th), Andrew Kelly (M65 – 9th), David Day (M75 – 7th), Will Drewe (M40Short – 1st), Charlotte Drewe (White – 5th).

Next day, in the Relay Championships near Henley, on hillier but otherwise faster terrain, both teams carried on the previous day’s sequence of top 10 results, with Quentin, Andrew and David 10th in M60+, and Ruth, Liz and Will 5th in Mixed Ad Hoc (the largest class on the day!).
